Ultra Nostalgia!

The second I acquired the mix-tape "Nostalgia, Ultra" I noticed the title tracks referencing Video Games, which by the way are some of my favorite games. I knew that this album was going to be very unique and interesting to say the least. The first track I heard from this release was Novocaine and immediately I was surprised by it's freshness and originality with its presentation. Frank Ocean the oldest member of the super hyped click Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Em All stands alone and far from his peers in the group, with more maturity to be exact. The mix-tape fallows a loose concept of Nostalgia which is heard throughout the entire tape. What makes this release so diffrent are his lyrics and vocal approach to songwriting, he doesn't repeat himself to much and the topics he chooses are about real life situations where he contemplates and honors points in his life that meant a lot to him. The most important aspect about this album is the angle Frank Ocean used to resurrect a stale genre. The main collaborator that helped him achieve the production was Tricky Stewart and long time collaborator of The-Dream and the man responsible for co-writing "Single Ladies".  The beats are both glossy and Indie with a hint of Rock and Roll. Personally for me "Nostalgia, Ultra" was real easy to embrace because Frank Ocean is very similar to Kid Cudi, another artist I admire. Frank Ocean will be a house hold name before you know it and I'm glad because him and another upcoming artist "The Weeknd" will be the end of those pansies Drake and Trey Songz.

a "Biutiful" film

If you only have a few months to live what would you do to set things right, in this film Javier Berdam does so and we the audience witness the power of the human heart. If Berdam wasn't the great actor he is this film wouldn't get the emotions and vulnerabilities his character portrays, its obvious this film was written for him. Everything starts harsh and real in the first few minutes of the picture, you realize this man has terminal condition and in my opinion things couldn't get worse. The film fallow Uxbal a man with terminal cancer trying his hardest to tie matters together and not become a burden to the people that love him the most. Inaritus direction, the films director, is as sharp as ever, this time around he doesn't bring to you a group of stories that correlate but instead one story with many sides. This format to me wasn't far from his original concepts, you got a man living different lives that others aren't aware of yet he lives them without suspicion among the others. The most brave and inspiring thing about this film is the central's character will to set his own emotions apart and struggle to set a life for his children, family and friends. Every person in this world could use a little more of that and in this picture you see a perfect example of a selfless act of love.

Year of the Black Rainbow by Coheed and Cambria "Album Review""

Coheed and Cambria are back with another well anticipated album of new material, but this time the conceptual theme is a prequel to the Coheed and Cambria Saga. The album has killer production and i gotta say whether you like it or not CoCa is progressing right along just fine. What i was anticipating the most was Chris Pennie making his debut as their full time drummer. He really fits in adding a heavier tone to their music but as always throwing rudiments that blow your mind. The vocals sound very loose and its not a bad thing. Most certainly pick up this album it definitely rocks and has a bunch of energy and to all the literature fans of Coheed a special packaging of the Album comes with a novel co written by Claudio Sanchez.

This are a few stand out tracks selected by yours truly.

"Get Out" by Circa Survive; Single Review

like almost always anthony green opens up with a great
vocal hook, from there the guitars pick up and set
the mood for the remainder of the song. With the guitars
soaring above all you seem to expect this album to have both the
heavy and abstract guitar work. If you follow Circa Surive you may notice
this is the loudest and raspiest almost scream coming out of mr. green's vocals since
his days with Saosin. With this song clearly being the
record's blast off track I'm very curious to hear
the rest of the production.
